WhatsApp Beta Adds Support For Bold And Italic Text

For Android users, WhatsApp v2.12.535 will let them add a bold or italics format to a text. To add bold type the text in between two * (asterisks) symbols and for italics type between two underscore _ symbols. For your friend to see the formatting they need to be on the same version. The formatting feature worked fine for us.

First are the text selection toolbar actions for changing the font. If you might recall, last year WhatsApp introduced bold, italic, and strikethrough fonts then it added a fixedsys monospace font as well. However, you had to remember the different triggers to apply these so not a lot of people knew about them or correctly recalled them when needed. Starting in April with WhatsApp 2.17.148, we noticed that the app was now using Android M's customizable floating text toolbar to let you change to the different font types. All you have to do is select the text you want to change, tap the overflow button (three dots) in the toolbar, and choose whether you want bold, italic, strikethrough, or monospace, and the correct character triggers will be applied automatically.

WhatsApp beta adds support for bold and italic text

You can add an asterisk (*) before and after the text that you want to make bold. For example, in the above screenshot, I wanted to highlight the word Hi, so I wrote *Hi* and you can see that the text is now bold. You can then tap to send it.2. Italic TextNow if you want to write in italic text you can do that easily. Just like bold, italic is also useful when something is being emphasized. To make some text italic, you will need to add underscore (_) before and after the text. For example, in the above message, I typed _Hi_ to make it italic.

WhatsApp offers some text formatting options on iPhone, Android, and even the web version. It lets you enhance the text message with bold, italics, monospace, and strikethrough. This is especially helpful when you type a long message. You can highlight by making a few words bold or make headings with it. Similarly, italics and strikethrough help you liven and spice up the conversation. So, open the app, and let me show you how to compose WhatsApp messages with these text styles.

You can use some formats without using commands in Discord. Just enter the message and select the text you want to format. This will open a pop-up menu with options to make the text bold, italic, strikethrough, blockquote, code block, and even make it a spoiler. Anyhow, these Discord shortcuts will just add markdown syntax to the message automatically.

WhatsApp most recent update i.e March 2016 now includes the ability to add text formatting such bold, italics and strikethrough. This means users will be able to stress the fact that their message is going too long unanswered by using italics or use strikethrough to change their thought. This update is available to its iOS and Android apps.

1. For bold, add asterisks to either side of your text you wish to bold, For example, *Dad* 2. To italicise something, add underscores to either side of the word. For example _Hello_ 3. To strikethrough some text, add tildes to either side of the word or in other words before and after of your chosen words or phrases, e.g. Morning 4. If you want to combine or mix, combine the new formats, such as _*bolditalics*_. The format goes for all. tec

The main WhatsApp app gets the ability to add formatting to text messages. The options include bold, italics and strikethrough. Instead of using buttons or a formatting menu, WhatsApp opted to borrow from markdown language so users can just surround the text they want to format with the appropriate symbols. Using asterisks will yield bold text, underscores turn text italic, and putting tildes before and after a text string will result in strikethrough formatting. The markdown can be nested so users can combine formats like bold and italics.

Early versions of iOS often used web views to render text with advanced styling such as bold, italics, and colors as they were easier to work with than the alternatives. The release of iOS 7 brought with it a new framework for working with text and text attributes: Text Kit. All text-based UIKit controls (apart from UIWebView) use Text Kit as shown in the following diagram:

Adding emphasis to text messages can really help convey meaning. From using italics to show sarcasm, to bolding text to emphasize a specific word. Typographical styling can be useful to make sure that text is interpreted how it was meant. So, what styles can you use in WhatsApp and how do you use them?

Text styles can be combined, for example, text can be both bold and italicised, the syntax just needs to be closed in the reverse order it was opened in. The only exception is monospacing, which cannot be combined with any other styling.

He took inspiration of how people used to write in plain text emails. You know, back in the time before you could use bold and italics in emails people used _underscores_ and **asterisks** to emphasise words.

To write in italics, you need to add underscores before and after your text. For example, _italics_ automatically becomes italics. To write in bold as well, asterisks are required before and after your text. Writing *bold* becomes bold. You can as well combine both.

WhatsApp has a small new update that will change how you send messages to your contacts. The newest update, allows users to change the format of their text. Specifically, users can make their text bold, italicized or striked out.

Changing the formatting is relatively simple and requires adding characters before and after the word you would like to format. To bold text, users add an asterisk before and after the word(s), a tilde for strikethrough and an underscore for italics. 2ff7e9595c
